The University of Pune is
one of the top five Universities of India. It has 46 departments, more than 240 affiliated
Colleges and 118 recognized Institutions. University of Pune attracts the highest number
of foreign students among the Indian. In the age of globalization the University of Pune
has set out to make its presence felt globally through internationalization of programmes
and opening of new avenues of association for the global student community. The sprawling
411 acres university symbolizes the city in its letter and spirit. The lush green
ambiance, old historical buildings, tailor-made new structures and an atmosphere charged
with a youthful enthusiasm make the campus a perfect place for learning. An active and
pleasing presence of 5 national facilities
is another feather in the cap.

NCRA, C-DAC and IUCAA.

The International Centre of University
of Pune assists the International Student community in acquiring
information about the various courses offered, fees charged
etc. It arranges for their admissions and looks
after for their welfare. The International Centre of the University of Pune is the
first of its kind among the Indian Universities
and is a model for all the other Universities
to follow. It endeavors to explore new horizons for building
up international goodwill and
understanding and wishes to demolish the artificial barriers that
separate the learning communities and hinder the spread of information and
knowledge. With the approval of UGC
and the Central Government, University of Pune proposes to setup campus abroad. A Number
of MOU's have been signed with various leading Universities whereby sharing of the
facilities in the University. The Centre is the nodal agency that coordinates all the
activities related to the admission of foreign students through a Single Window
System that is a unique example in the country. Besides looking after the admissions, the
Centre coordinates with
ICCR, Ministry of External Affairs, different embassies and consulates for various
purposes including the scholarships |
